Common Questions We Hear!

  • Hill Country Style: Incorporates natural stone, native plants, and rustic aesthetics.
  • Desert Style: Features cacti, succulents, and gravel.
  • Traditional Southern Style: Includes manicured lawns, flowering shrubs, and shade trees.

Although there are many great options, some of our favorites include Texas Sage, Lantana, Salvia, Agave, Golden Euonymus, Juniper, Yucca, and Spineless Prickly Pear. Consider perennials to avoid having to re-plant year after year combined with some more seasonal options for more color. If you have four-footed friends, it is important to keep them in mind while selecting your plant choices as some are toxic to cats and dogs.

Xeriscaping is a landscaping method that minimizes water use by incorporating drought-resistant plants and efficient irrigation with a gravel heavy landscape design.

Focus on native plants, hardscaping, efficient irrigation, xeriscaping, or  mulching to reduce upkeep. Native plants will require less care than foreign plants. Hardscaping will reduce the living portion of the landscape that requires care. Mulch can be used around trees and in planting beds; it reduces weed growth, retains moisture, and provides nutrients to the plants and soil below as it biodegrades.  Mulch will need to be replaced every few years.

It starts with identifying the direction of water flow and affected areas.  Once this is known, a plan can be formulated. It may require re-grading the yard to ensure the slope is appropriate to facilitate flow away from your home or other structures; you may need drains installed to redirect or hold water or perhaps a combination. Rain gardens can catch excess water and are aesthetically pleasing. Other solutions include permeable pavers, and swales to redirect and absorb excess water.

Spring and Fall are the best planting seasons for most plants, as the temperatures are moderate and allow for root establishment before the extremes of summer and winter.

We do! We have great partners that are able to provide financing opportunities for our clients who’d like to take advantage of them. Check out our finance page to see what options are right for you.
